The Project Implementation Unit for Khartoum New International Airport (KNIA) and the public water purveyor State Khartoum Water Corp. agreed to develop a water supply scheme for the White Nile west banks to service future KNIA and the surrounding regional development.
The Jebel Aulia White Nile Water Transmission (JAWN) Scheme is planned for 15,000 m³ (4 Mgal) daily transmission capacity.
It encompass approx 7 km (4.5 miles) DN500 (20”) transmission line, starting at the Corp’s Jewel Aulia water treatment plant on the White Nile east bank, pumping station, the White Nile river crossing, and a 35,000 m³ (9 Mgal) concrete Regional Water Reservoir.
A 7 km (4.5 miles) DN200 (8”) transmission systems delivers water supply of the future KNIA.
