With 4.31 Million inhabitants, Alexandria, after Cairo, is the second largest city in north Africa, and fourth largest urban agglomeration in north Africa and tenths largest in all Africa. At the same time it is ancient settlement area and occupied continuously for more than 4,000 years, an important touristic center, center of heavy and petrochemical industry and possesses the most important Egyptian and north African harbor.
The Ministry for Urban Works awarded the urban planning firm AS&P with preparation of a master plan to route Alexandria‘s future development, to elaborate a urban vision for 2032, and to consolidate multiple plans into a master plan. For implementation different pioneering projects are launched.
